Encounter the Cross

Good Friday is a difficult but important day in the church calendar. We tend to want to skip forward to the joy of Easter and Jesus’ resurrection, but first, we must experience the darkness and tension of Good Friday and Jesus’ suffering.

In lieu of a Good Friday worship service this year, we invite you to join us for an interactive art exhibit that artists from our congregation have put together called Encounter the Cross. Artists have recreated some of the events leading to Jesus’ death, and you’ll be able to engage with the art in various ways (all five senses!).

This event will be held at the location where our Weaverville campus meets, Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy. Come any time you like. After participating in communion, you’ll be given a guide to the exhibit and will take yourself through it at your own pace (we expect it to take no longer than 30 minutes).

No childcare is provided for this event. Use your discretion in bringing your children through the exhibit as some graphic images of Jesus’ suffering will be present.
